Model mocks Instagram Nipplegate to sell Samsung phones

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Of late, model Chrissy Teigen has been more successful at marketing than has Samsung.

Teigen's Instagram account, for example, enjoys more than 3 million followers. Samsung has a mere 1 million.

So perhaps Samsung has hired her to learn a thing or two. Her new ad selling Samsung's latest phones, which were unveiled Thursday in New York, is a veritable delight.

Not for reasons of pulchritude, but because it's infused with Teigen's wit. Yes, the setup is a touch hokey. She can't decided between the Galaxy Note 5 and the S6 Edge+.

But Teigen, who has appeared in a handful of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues, tosses in jokes about her stretch marks or, as she calls them, her "tiger stripes." And then there are the nipple jokes.

"You think they'd censor Pippa's dogeolas?" she muses.

Should you have been indulging in some bizarre vegan burial ritual for the last however-long, you may not know that Instagram temporarily banned Teigen (or at least her likeness) for the heinous crime of revealing a nipple.

In the ad, she first decides that if she gets the Galaxy Note, she'd be very organized and therefore: "I could list all the days I've been banned from social media."

Then again, the S6 Edge+ has lovely HD. Hence, Teigen wonders whether her dog Pippa would get into areola trouble through the perfecting of the image.

There follows an amusing part where she reveals her Pippa's boobal area and covers it up again. And reveals it again and covers it up again.

But you're not interested in things like that. You're more rational than I am. You'll be asking whether this ad will sell phones.

It just might.
