The online entertainment service will be featured on AOL's MovieFone Web site; take part in co-branded, offline advertising; and become a tenant in Shop@AOL. and America Online will announce an agreement to promote CheckOut's online entertainment service.

Under the terms of the deal, CheckOut will be featured on AOL's MovieFone Web site and take part in co-branded, offline advertising. CheckOut also will become a tenant in Shop@AOL, the online giant's shopping site, according to CheckOut.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

An e-commerce and entertainment site, CheckOut was formed in May by Hollywood power broker Michael Ovitz and Richard Wolpert, a former president of Disney Online. In November, the company struck a $40 million deal to become the exclusive Internet partner for Wherehouse Music, gaining a bricks-and-mortar presence in the retail giant's 600 stores across the nation.

The move will come the same day that AOL formally relaunches its flagship site, in part to give Shop@AOL increased prominence. On Monday, the Dulles, Va.-based company unveiled the largest merger in corporate history, a proposed purchase of Time Warner for more than $160 billion.
