Cheaper 3G gear from Analog Devices

Analog Devices on Monday introduced the TigerSharc, a digital signal processing chip for next-generation phone base stations. The company claims the chip, which provides a function essential for the next-generation telephone networks, costs just half the amount of other chips that perform the same function. The TigerSharc can be used in any type of next-generation cell phone network, including those that use CDMA (code division multiple access) or GSM (global system for mobile communications).
