Chainsaw art and the Doom game are made for each other

Thought you were excited for Doom? Check out this Aussie artist carving a 2.4 metre tall wooden statue of a Revenant with a chainsaw.

Doom has arrived and it's looking pretty sweet. The latest game in the insanely popular run of first person shooters is now here for PC, Xbox One and PS4. So why not celebrate with some high art?

Bethesda got Australia's champion chainsaw carver (it's a real thing!) to create a 2.4 metre sculpture of a Revenant from the game.

It took Rob around 150 hours, but thankfully you can watch it in just two minutes. Remarkable restraint was shown when nobody blasted the sculpture with a shot gun. It instead is on display at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne's Federation Square.
