Online music site CDNow says it is partnering with Hard Rock Cafe International to bring live concerts to the Web. The companies plan to co-produce a series of six concerts to be Webcast on a co-branded site. Music fans will be able to view concerts, read interviews and related information about featured artists, and buy CDs and memorabilia. CDNow and Hard Rock said most of the concerts will be taped at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Fla., with live audiences. The Web site is scheduled to debut this summer.
CDNow is a division of Bertelsmann's eCommerce Group. Hard Rock is a network of 104 restaurants in 38 countries with a music memorabilia collection worth in excess of $32 million.
