Which trailers did people flock to view on YouTube this year? Those for the game Call of Duty dominated, but a few popular films heated up the site as well.

The 2012 YouTube Top Trailers Leaderboard revealed the top 10 most-viewed movie, TV, and video game trailers of the year. Combined, the 10 trailers scored more than 170 million views through both promotion and sheer popularity.

Capturing the top spot was a live-action trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The game's other trailers also won the 2nd, 8th, and 10th spots in the list.

Batman swung his way into the No. 3 slot with a trailer for the film "The Dark Knight Rises." The latest James Bond film "SkyFall" fell into the No. 4 spot.

The trailer for the movie "Ted," which follows a teddy bear that comes to life, was No. 5, followed by the trailer for "The Hunger Games." The TV show "Revolution" picked up the No. 7 spot. And another "Skyfall" trailer found its way on the list in the No. 9 slot.

"For many of us, trailers are half the fun of going to the movies," YouTube said on its Leaderboard page. "Thanks to YouTube, there's no price of admission to watch them."
