The call center services market is expected to soar by 2005 in the Asia-Pacific region, according to an industry report. Market researcher IDC is predicting the market will grow from $1.2 billion in 2000 to more $4 billion in the next four years. The computer industry relies heavily on call centers to provide technical assistance to customers.
The report says Australia, India and China are well placed to dominate the market by 2005 because of the rapid expansion of the Indian market plus the expected boom in China. "Enormous opportunities exist for call center integrators and outsourcers across the region, particulary in India, China and Australia," IDC analyst Phil Hassey said.
