Cable giants back home security

Home security company @Security Broadband received a $45 million second round of funding from large cable-related investors. Charter Communications, a company owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, Comcast, Cox Communications, Cablevision Systems, and Rogers Communications are some of the investors that have contributed a total of $59 million to the company. The Austin, Texas-based company will use the proceeds to further develop its Web-based home security system. The system allows customers and alarm companies to use a PC to view activity and sounds at a residence via cable modems, DSL or wireless connections.
