Buzz Out Loud 1485: Steve Jobs building the mothership? (Podcast)

Steve Jobs pitches the city of Cupertino on a gigantic, circular "office complex" with its own power supply and, of course, a totally gorgeous design. Our question: does it come with its own Arc reactor? Also, World IPv6 Day is actually about preventing riots in the streets. Now do you care? And we found out right after the show ended that the Facebook profile pic tattoo story is a hoax. So now we hate the Internet, but we're still a little relieved.

I think your guys are right. iCloud is just pushing and syncing. No streaming ever mentioned.

So why not just just Audio Galaxy??

Audio Galaxy
http://www.audiogalaxy.com

Don’t need Amazon, Google, Apple, permission from the record industry or any additional storage. No uploading, no yearly payment.

Just streaming your own music from your own computer to your device for free. No one else to deal with. Isn’t that what everyone really wants?

Hey, you’ve probably already seen this given that Molly follows Lulzsec, but Lulzsec recently won an extremely boastful challenge made by a cyber-security website, which was

“”Change this website’s homepage picture and win $10K and a position working with Senior Cybersecurity Advisor”"

Naturaly, the website homepage was changed, and a message posted “”DONE, THAT WAS EASY. KEEP YOUR MONEY WE DO IT FOR THE LULZ”"

They turned down 10K. People may call them evil bastards, but at least they aren’t in it for the money.

Ps: A question for you
With all of the recent news about cyber security (eg. hackers getting into Gmail), the sony attacks and now this:
Should we just destroy the internet and start over?

Hey BOL-ers,

After following coverage of the Apple event and listening to the past 2 days of your analysis, I’m more confused than ever about iCloud. On yesterday’s show, you reiterated the need for a wifi connection to take full advantage of most of the syncing features (pictures, music, etc.). That need for wifi, combined with the disappointment that there is no streaming from the cloud, only syncing through the cloud, makes me question the need for iCloud at all! Data goes from my iDevice, up to iCloud, and back down to my other iDevices. Why can’t my computer be my iCloud? It seems the only benefits of iCloud on mobiles are contact, calendar, task, and app data syncing which is all very late catchup at this point.

American in England,
Nathan
