Hi Buzz Crew!

I was listening to the podcast of episode 1414 and the short discussion about the Apple’s rebranding of Intel’s Light Peak technology. I agree with Molly and disagree with Brian about “”not being a big deal”". A brand is a promise and an identity. People identify brands and have an expectation about it, good or bad. Apple had a problem with other manufacturers taking their software technology and creating Mac clones years ago, saying “”that damages our brand and what our customers expect from Mac OS and Apple computers”", so all the Mac clones disappeared soon after that. So, why is Apple rebranding a technology that’s not theirs? Even if it was a “”partnership”", the action confuses customers and creates a sense of “”exclusivity”" for Apple products, when in reality, the technology Intel developed can be available for other computer manufacturers and it’s called Light Peak.

Hi Buzz crew,

So I went on Amazon Video on Demand last night to use the new streaming service on Amazon and discovered something very interesting.
You mentioned that the streaming service isn’t for the free college Prime account, but it’s also not available for shared accounts. My dad has the primary Prime account (the one who pays the $79) and he shares it with me. Apparently, only the primary account gets access to the free streaming. Everyone else (even shared accounts) must separately pay the $79 a year to get the streaming. Amazon fail?

Hi BOL!

My boyfriend and I met on OkCupid 7 months ago. Shortly after we met I moved in with him, leaving my full-time job and home town state behind. Doesn’t this show that I love him and want to be with him? Guess not, since he’s always on my case for having my exs as friends on facebook. I see them nothing more as friends and rarely talk to them. Not to mention that one of them is gay. I’m starting to think he is going through my online and personal things. What is his problem?

Hey Buzz crew. My name is Dwayne from Chicago. I have a little issue with a woman at my job and texting. Her texts to me seem to be suggestive and frequent. I try not to read too much into her texts, but some are difficult to ignore. I want to call her out on them to see what’s up but because she is someone I work with, I don’t want to make a fool of myself. Just to give you some examples if what I have received in the last few days:

“I like the way your pants fit you. ”
“How was your weekend? Mine was boring. Maybe if I had a boyfriend it wouldn’t be. Lol.”

“Do you think (another co-worker) is hotter than me?”

“What kind of women do you like?”

These are the texts that i’m getting! It seems like a no-brainer, but I have been mistaken before. And again, I don’t want to look like an idiot to someone I work with. What should I do?

Hi Buzz crew,

a few weeks ago you suggested the following algorithm to get a hot date:

1: girl asks boy to fix computer
2: boy fixes computer in return for
3: girl goes out on date with boy.

The obvious problem with this algorithm is that it requires a computer problem on girl’s computer.
So the industrious/devious/creepy geek will of course insert:
step 0: Boy uses leet skills to inject virus on girls computer.

this is a college-psycho-thriller movie waiting to happen.
