Buzz Out Loud 1408: We have Cyber Issues (podcast)

On today's show, a whole collection of Apple rumors: iPhone 5 with a keyboard? That's just crazy talk. Almost as crazy as letting Apple take a 30% cut of your magazine or newspaper subscription costs by "taking advantage" of their new subscription store. Plus, Facebook is officially the entire Internet, as it gets both dedicated phone buttons and a Facebook SIM card. Plus, the U.S. finally commits to the Internet, Netflix finally arrives on Boxee, and we finally get a Plants vs. Zombies board game. I know you were waiting. --Molly

Hey Buzz Crew,
I am currently in the process of purchasing a new 27″” iMac. But was wondering is this a good time to buy? Or is the new iMac just around the corner in the next coming months? What to do? Please help Buzz Crew. FYI, LOVE THE SHOW.

Hey Buzz Crew!

I am sure many of us in the BOL universe have had the exciting experience of teaching parents, or others who may be less technically inclined, some of the finer aspects of computing. So Google has put together a site at http://www.teachparentstech.org where you can build a “”care package”" to send to Mom, Dad or someone close to you with different video tutorials like “”adjust the time on your clock”" or “”change your screensaver”" or my personal favorite “”copy & paste”" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N92BaOnunGk). In all seriousness, I know a couple people who need to take the “”Create a Strong Password”" video to heart.

Love the Show,
Milan the Biomedical Engineer from UT Austin

Dang Molly, I’m surprised by the artist non love on the valentines show seeing as you’re our sister in profession (yes liberal artist count as artist). It's ok though, I can understand that some of us can be a bit trying at times but we all share a common thread in our geek-ness about our trades. I admit the drawing and painting in the park thing has type casted us a bit but there is so much more to us. Try asking them if they prefer compressed or vine charcoal or perhaps strike a conversation with a 3D artist like a sculpture jeweler and I think you’ll be impressed. Just ask my fiancé (a journalism major), she certainly was.

Love the show,
Jalal the Graphic Artist and part time jeweler from Chicago
