Buzz Out Loud 1308: Maladjusted mustache guys sniffing your data (podcast)

On today's show, it turns out that people and not just computers are looking at some of the super-private data you give to Google. And some of those people are hipsters in ironic t-shirts. Yeah, scary. Also, the new Twitter debuts, and it's better than the iPad version. Plus, IE 9 and Nokia's new attitude (and personnel): too little too late?

Hey Buzz Crew,

After listening to your discussions on Google instant search I was left wondering one thing. How many people still go to the Google home page to search? Instant search might save me a few keystrokes on the Google home page but I do all my searching from the search bar of whichever browser I’m currently on. Even with instant search, it’s going to take me longer to go to the Google home page to search. When you can instant search directly from Chrome I’ll start getting excited.

Love the show!

Hey Buzz Crew,

I just wanted to reply re: the Facebook movie. Is Molly asserting that Zuckerberg will lose his seat as CEO of a privately held company because of a highly fictionalized movie version of a Ben Mezrich book? I watched about 10 minutes of 21 when it came out before I turned it off because of how Hollywood butchered the story. It’s a movie. About a book that Mezrich couldn’t even get an interview with Zuckerburg with. It’s not even close to being a documentary. I think that Zuckerberg’s comments about trust will do much more damage to his reputation.

Hey MoRaJas (I wonder what that is going to become *sniff*) and Rafe in particular, I am curious to hear what you think about the Dell Inspiron Duo netbook/tablet. Sure it looked a little gimmicky, but i was thinking that that might just be the form factor that many professionals (maybe even Molly) will adopt if construction and execution were top notch. My wife is a travelling rep and she would love something like this as it would not sacrifice productivity. And how much did it weigh because we know Molly does not need her tablet/netbook to be her travelling workout dumbell. Love the show.
