Buzz Out Loud 1254: BOL: The college years (podcast)

Buzz Out Loud: the podcast that carries you through your formative years and even into college. We've got a great email about it, in fact. Also, we were totally right about the e-book price war--Kindle is now down to $189. Also, Apple will now collect your precise geographic information and share it with its partners. You can't opt out or anything, but hey, at least they let you know. Also: a Molly rant. Like, a real one. It's at the end. Enjoy!

“Hey Buzz Crew,
I don’t agree with you at all Molly, I don’t think Google lied so much as didn’t care. I believe they did collect that data on accident, and that it was fragmented. I’m not saying it should have been collected, but stuff happens. So there might have been a few user names and passwords in how much data from how many users? Why are you getting mad at Google? They force encryption on all their logins so even if you are on an open wifi it’s still encrypted. Be mad at any site that uses clear text to transmit login data! If Google picked up this on accident, think what someone could get on purpose!

Hey MoRaJa,

Long time listener first time e-mailer. I just wanted to chime in and say that I sold my 16GB iPhone 3GS that was carrier locked to AT&T still for a whopping $365! Paying for my 32GB iPhone for in the process! Needless to say, there is a huge market for huge iPhones.

I other news, I got an e-mail last night that says I will be receiving my iPhone 4 on the 23rd, as opposed to the 24th. Apparently Apple and AT&T would like to try and keep the activation server meltdown of last year from happening again.

Thanks for being cool!

Tomorrow, June 22, will be my one year anniversary of listening to BOL. This last year has been tough, it was my senior year of high school and it did not go as smoothly as planned. Through the apathy, the procrastination, the college applications and scholarships, personal struggles and having to define who I was and the person I wanted to become, you guys were there. Whenever an essay loomed over my head or an academic competition breathed down my neck, Buzz Out Loud was there as a shelter in the storm and as shield to the deafening level of work that I subjected myself to.

With what seemed to be an almost tragic end to my high school years, was Tom leaving. But I realized something; it made sense. I was moving on into a new phase of my life, and BOL was moving into a new phase with me. I will move forward into college still listening to Jason, Molly and now Rafe on a daily basis. And I know it will be a comfort and little bit of a reminder of home. So thanks for being there, and being able to go with me. I know that one day the show must end, as all that truly matters in life does, but I just hope that it can last another four years. Thanks again.

Sincerely,
Stephen Underwood

P.S. Still loving the show.
