BulkRegister sheds some pounds

BulkRegister.com, one of the Web's top domain name registrars, says it has laid off 19 of its 34 employees, or roughly 65 percent of its staff, for "economic reasons," according to a company representative. The Baltimore-based company also dismissed its chief executive, Tony Keyes, who will be replaced by BulkRegister founder Tom Cunningham. The cutbacks, which are effective immediately, came from within the company's sales and marketing staff. To date, the 15-month-old company has registered more than 2.3 million domain names on the Internet.
