The Bose CineMate is a 2.1 (stereo speakers plus subwoofer) speaker system that is no longer manufactured.

In its place, Bose now offers two replacement models: the Bose CineMate Series II ($599) and the Bose CineMate GS Series II ($799). The latter model offers upgraded "Gemstone" speakers and a programmable universal remote.

Those seeking an inexpensive Bose 2.1 speaker system should also note the Bose Acoustimass 3 Series IV, which--at just $199--is one of the least expensive products in the Bose line.

Anyone interested in this product should also consider a powered sound bar, sound bar speaker (needs external amplification) or TV add-on speaker.
