Borland adding support for Web

Borland'sDelphi Developer 2.0 Update builds Internet and intranet applications.

Not to be outdone by competitors adding Web support to their development tools, Borland International today announced the Delphi Developer 2.0 Update, an optional set of tools for building Internet and intranet applications using the company's Delphi development tool suite.

The Update includes the Borland Internet Solutions Pack, a set of eight ActiveX controls for creating and integrating Web browser capabilities, Internet mail management, file transfer, dynamic Web pages, and Web servers into new and existing Delphi applications. Also included is DeltaPoint QuickSite, a server management tool for linking databases to Microsoft's Internet Information Server.

The Update will be available later this month to registered Delphi users for a $10 shipping and handling fee.
