Blake Stone named Borland CTO

Borland Software on Tuesday named Blake Stone as its chief technology officer. Stone will be working on new software to help companies align business needs with software development projects, the company said. Stone, who joined the company as a software architect in 1997, recently served as chief scientist at Borland and played a key role in the company's acquisitions of Starbase and TogetherSoft, the company said. Stone holds patents for innovative uses of Unified Modeling Language, which is used to define a model, or blueprint, for software construction.
