There are certain things that come to mind when this time of year rolls around. Cold weather, hot food and a certain big game that is (boringly) usually played in some warm-weather city. While millions of eyeballs will be glued to screens everywhere, that is not the only part of the face that will be busy on Sunday. Aside from cheering and/or yelling at the television (or smartphone or tablet), we will be eating.

Designed for use home or on the go, the slow cooker features the ability to accommodate large parties or small. Graduated markings, like yard lines, designate the volume of food to be cooked. Set the size on the front panel -- 2, 4 or 6 quarts -- and the cooker runs with the ball from there. For busy party preppers, that is something to appreciate.

When cooking is completed, the slow cooker automatically switches over to its warm setting. Depending on how good the game is (and the quality of this year's commercials), it's entirely possible that the setting might come in handy if the sports drama unfolds in a particularly entertaining way.

Of course, the competition in the living room is going to be fierce, if not on the television at least among the snacks, dips and chips that comprise the spread, so if the game does go into overtime, a mad 40-yard dash for hot food won't be necessary to save the day.
