There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who think "The Big Lebowski" is perhaps the most quotable movie ever made, and those who are wrong.
Those of you who are wrong, yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. Obviously you're not golfers. This aggression will not stand.
Those of you who are, right now, ordering up a Caucasian (White Russian) while pondering a rug that will really tie the room together, come over here and lace up your bowing shoes while we peruse this photo released Friday of John Turturro.
Unless you've been spending too much time bathing with marmots (it was really a ferret), you may have heard that Turturro is once again playing terrifying bowler Jesus Quintana of "Big Lebowski" fame, this time in the upcoming film "Going Places." Turturro is also writing and directing the film, which will reportedly be released in 2017.
The film has been variously described as a "spin-off" and a "sequel" to "The Big Lebowski." How can it be either when Jeff Bridges and John Goodman aren't even in it? This is not Nam, this is bowling, there are rules!
Still, Joel and Ethan Coen, creators of the first film, have granted Turturro the right to use the character. They're not otherwise involved. This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous.
But back to the photo. Turturro looks exactly like "Lebowski"-era Jesus, complete with passion for purple, rail-thin figure, hairnet and bowling prowess. So until the boys at the crime lab get us our Creedence tapes back, it'll have to do. The Dude abides.
