Betting the farm on wireless

In response to the Feb. 26 Perspectives column by Sue Ashdown, "Will the Bells crush Net calling?":

My home is connected to the world by three wires. Each wire was installed to maximize the profits of a monopoly utility. My deregulated telephone supplier can't even spell high-speed Internet, my unregulated cable supplier can't distinguish between broadcasting and the Internet, and my energy provider thinks the Internet is a one-way data collection tool. Wireless is my last, best hope for a broadband competition that will give me an alternative to these monopolies.
