Best Buy chops older iPad prices as much as 30 percent

Walmart and MacMall are also offering price cuts on the iPad Mini and the larger iPad models. Plus: Discounts on the first-gen Kindle Fire and Acer's Iconia Tab A200.

Consumers looking to pick up an iPad will find discounts as high as 30 percent courtesy of Best Buy.

The retailer is offering the 16GB version of the 3rd-generation iPad $314, down from $449. The 32GB will run you $384, down from $549. And the 64GB edition is on sale for $454, down from $649.

The discounts also extend to the cellular flavors of the iPad 3, mostly with A&T but at least one with Verizon.

Consumers not interested in the iPad can also land a few discounts at Best Buy.

The first-generation version of Amazon's Kindle Fire is on sale for $99, down from $159. Acer's Iconia Tab A200 is available for $100 off the regular price, while an older Asus tablet is being sold at an $80 discount.

Buyers looking for an iPad Mini or fourth-generation iPad will find a few deals elsewhere.

Walmart is offering the the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the Mini for $299, a $30 discount off the regular price. MacMall is selling a variety of iPad Mini and iPad 4 models for as much as $40 off the retail price.

I've been thinking of getting my mom an iPad Mini for Mother's Day (shhh, don't tell her). So this may be a good opportunity to scoop one up.
