Fresh from playing the world's greatest detective, Ben Affleck is now going to be the world's greatest mathlete. The title of his new movie, "The Accountant", may not sound like it adds up to much, but the trailer multiplies tension by suspense and equals action.
To the strains of Radiohead's "Everything in its Right Place", the teaser builds a picture of Affleck's character as a math genius with an obsessive personality.
"Can our son lead a normal life?" asks a concerned parent. "Imagine the secrets this guy has," muses a cop, as our maths whizz hero cooks the books for a criminal syndicate.
Directed by "Warrior" helmer Gavin O'Connor, "The Accountant" co-stars Anna Kendrick, Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow. The film also unites Affleck, who plays DC comics hero Batman, with JK Simmons, who will join him as Commissioner Gordon in future DC movies, and Jon Bernthal, who will soon headline his own Netflix series as Marvel's Punisher.
"The Accountant" opens in November.
