'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' superbly skewered in parody video

Disappointed by the latest superhero action movie by director Zack Snyder? You're not alone. Let Honest Trailers deliver some hard truths about "Batman v Superman."

Poor "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The movie just can't catch a break. Not only were many of the reviews harsher than the Joker's laugh, now the sardonic satirists at Honest Trailers have decided the superhero extravaganza needs a good thrashing.

Honest Trailers is a YouTube series from Screen Junkies that features a classic movie-trailer voice-over but with a narrator who hilariously makes fun of films. In a new video posted Tuesday, Honest Trailers points out that fans got a cool, new Batman movie "trapped inside a boring, convoluted Superman sequel."

"Witness the hero that once stood for truth, justice and the American way stand for brooding, moping and wondering why he even bothers," Honest Trailers says of Superman.

Batman, on the other hand, seems to have charmed even the most cynical of pop culture critics. "Ben Affleck shines as Batman, who's one part CrossFit bro, one part Superman, one part Tony Stark, one part Arkham video game and one part actual bat."

This isn't the first time the Honest Trailers parody webseries has mocked the two superheroes. In March, the channel released competing trailers of 1978's "Superman" and 1989's "Batman."
