Barclays finally joins the Apple Pay banking brigade

The last of Britain's big banks gets on board with Apple's mobile payment system.

Better late than never, Barclays.

Barclays and Barclaycard customers can finally use Apple Pay.

After registering their details on the pre-installed Apple Pay app, Barclays customers will now be able to use their iPhones (limited to the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus and SE), as well as their iPads and Apple Watches to pay at over 400,000 contactless locations across the UK, as well as within certain shopping apps.

Joining a roster of other banks, Barclays is the last of the UK's financial giants to allow its customers to use Apple's contactless mobile payments system. The majority were already on board when Apple Pay launched in the UK in July 2015.
