Backstreet Boys to hold Webcast

The popular music band Backstreet Boys will hold its first-ever Webcast on March 23 as part of its sold-out "Black & Blue World Tour." The live concert will be broadcast via Yahoo, beginning at 8:30 p.m. EST from Mexico City's Foro Sol Stadium. Although Webcasting seems an attractive way to connect with a greater number of fans, some artists have run into technical difficulties because of problems associated with streaming. When Microsoft Webcast a concert by Madonna late last year, 9 million logons left many fans with jerky, slow connections or no access. Similarly, large numbers of people were unable to watch a live Webcast of a Victoria Secret fashion show, held in 1999, because of network bottlenecks and other roadblocks.
