Using Virtual Private Networking (VPN) capabilities in Aventail software, corporations can set up logical links to partners and remote employees regardless of physical location. Aventail's MobileVPN and PartnerVPN products support the SOCKS version 5.0 security standard, as well as several authentication and certification protocols.
VPN capabilities offer corporations a dedicated, secure route for remote users to dial into a corporate network.
Using the tools, an administrator can set up access rules based on the source of the link, destination of the connection, usage of the application on the link, and filtering features. A user interface also displays traffic flows to and from links and documents server activity.
The company will be demonstrating the technology at next week's Spring Networld+Interop trade show in Las Vegas. The MobileVPN and PartnerVPN software tools are available now, with prices starting at $4,995. Versions for Unix operating system flavors will be available by the end of this month.
