Australian IBM strike grows

The union representing workers at the outsourcing division of IBM Global Services Australia said another 80 employees will go on strike over a 48 hour period this weekend. The action is the result of 64 positions being axed last week within the computer giant's data processing units in Sydney and Melbourne, which led to a mass walkout of 150 people. The Community and Public Sector Union said the strike was to protest IBM's failure to abide by the bargaining agreement and lack of severance pay for the dismissed workers.
