Audible.com, a Net-based provider of spoken-word entertainment and information, says it will offer content from online publisher Salon.com in a marketing effort aimed at boosting subscribers. Under the agreement, the companies will cross-promote services. Wayne, N.J.-based Audible.com will offer new subscribers to its service two free months of an audio version of Salon Premium and make news and features available for $6 monthly. Salon Premium subscribers will be able to choose one of six audio books to download for free from Audible, which offers about 6,000 titles.
