Non-drinking partiers are being invited by the First Night organization to join Steve Mann on the Net as he roams around the streets of Boston on New Year's Eve starting at 4 p.m. ET.
Mann developed a helmet he calls The Wearable Wireless Webcam that will allow viewers to see what he sees. The helmet sends a signal to Mann's server at MIT, which sends the images over the Net.
The First Night organization promotes an alochol-free environment on New Year's Eve by encouraging museums, parks, and theaters to offer discounts across the country on that night.
