The nine-mission, three-hour long DLC is called Freedom Cry and features Edward Kenway's former quartermaster Adewale. According to Ubisoft, Freedom Cry takes place some 15 years after Adewale serves on the Jackdaw. Now a trained assassin, he finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapon nor crew. Hilarity, no doubt, ensues.

Freedom Cry is included for anyone with a Black Flag season pass — that's AU$29.95 on both Xbox and PlayStation. Otherwise you can buy it separately, although Ubisoft was unable to confirm what the Australian pricing would be for the individual DLC.

It's out first on both Xbox consoles and PC from 17 December. Anyone with a PS3 or PS4 will need to wait until 19 December.
