AppleVision monitor problems: MacWEEK column

CNET staff
This week's Second Decade column by Henry Norr in MacWEEK tackles the problems with AppleVision monitors. He reports that Mike Dionne, Apple senior vice president for Apple Assist, said that "units manufactured since July are much more reliable" but that "field failure rates on older units at times reached 25 percent." As regards the AppleVision extended warranty (mentioned here previously), Dionne said that Apple would soon issue refunds to those owners who had bought duplicating AppleCare coverage.

Henry lists the infamous serial numbers (which I was asked to remove from my site) of the monitors that qualify for the extension.

Oh yes. He also had some kind words to say about MacFixIt (Thanks, Henry!).
