Apple is apparently planning to release an iPad keyboard accessory with a built-in trackpad later this year. It's expected to come out around the same time as the updated iPad Pro, The Information reported Thursday.

Foxconn, the Taiwanese company responsible for making most iPhones, will be one of the main manufacturers of this new accessory, the report noted, and it's designed to make the tablet more appealing as a laptop alternative. The current Smart Keyboard options don't have a mouse or trackpad, so you're forced to use the iPad touchscreen.

The company didn't respond to a request for comment.
