With Apple CEO Tim Cook currently in India, the company is making news in the country left and right.
On Thursday, the iPhone maker announced it was opening a centre in Hyderabad that will focus on development of the Maps app for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Apple says the new development centre will create up to 4,000 jobs.
"The talent here in the local area is incredible and we are looking forward to expanding our relationships and introducing more universities and partners to our platforms as we scale our operations," Cook said.
It comes ait will build an iOS design and development accelerator in Bengaluru, considered home to India's startup scene.
Apple is hoping to increase its presence in the subcontinent, which is rapidly becoming one of the world'smarkets.
