Apple Computer launched a test version of a Web-based e-mail program for those who use the company's free Mac.com e-mail accounts. The test software, made available Wednesday, allows iTools customers to check their e-mail from a Web browser on either a Mac or PC.
Apple did not provide a time frame for when a final version of the software would be launched. An Apple representative said that Web-based access to e-mail was a popular request among Mac.com account holders.
