Apple, Sorenson Media settle suit
Apple Computer and Sorenson Media said Wednesday that they have settled a lawsuit filed by Apple in April and a countersuit filed by Sorenson in July over the use of software codecs created by Sorenson. The companies did not release details of the settlement but said it "provides for the dismissal of all claims and counterclaims."
In its response to Apple's lawsuit, Sorenson cited a February 2000 e-mail from Apple CEO Steve Jobs that, according to Sorenson, demonstrated that Apple had "exclusive rights to past but not future versions of software codecs produced by Sorenson Media."
