Apple offers OS X discount

Apple is offering a $30 discount on its forthcoming OS X operating system to those who purchased the beta, or test, version. To be eligible for the discount, beta version owners must preorder OS X from Apple's online store. Apple charged $30 for the beta version of OS X, which it made available in September. "This offer is our way of saying, 'Thanks for helping make Mac OS X the world's most advanced operating system,'" Apple said in a statement. The long-awaited software goes on sale March 24.
