You never think of Apple as caring about the online world too much.

It's not as if the company has ever sprawled itself across Twitter, for example.

Look at recent YouTube charts and it's Samsung that's dominating.

Enter the Cookie Monster.

Apple's remarkably populist ad for hands-free Siri, released in March, has enjoyed almost 10 million YouTube views.

Someone at Apple must have been moved by this, as the company has released another Cookie Monster video to YouTube.

This one features amusing outtakes that show the Sesame Street character has a bit of a thing for Apple's alluring artificial intelligence.

"Siri, you in there?" wonders the Monster as he stares at his iPhone.

When Siri acknowledges that she knows exactly who the blue Muppet is, Cookie Monster gets terribly excited. So much so that he wants to make her a special cookie.

It all gets a little intimate, as the Cookie Monster goes to bed with his iPhone and bids Siri goodnight.

Siri, quite naturally, replies.

This moves the Monster, who then admits that he has a sleeping problem. Well, how do you close those eyes?

This video has itself already garnered almost 2 million views.

Some might wonder whether its appearance around the launch of the suddenly diminutive iPhone SE signals a move by Apple to get its share of online adoration. Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Just as the Monster wants some Siri love, it's easy to believe that Apple wants a little more of the online world's silly affection.
