Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.

I really like the idea of SnapNPlay, but after playing with it, I have to admit: it needs a bit of tweaking. Just take a snapshot of some sheet music, and the app will analyse it and play it back to you. You can fiddle with the tempo, and, in the paid version, you can set the key and clef. As you can see from our video, it ... works, but it also reads every slightly darker mark on the stave. Still, the developer admits that it's a work in progress, and, as we said, we love the concept. If you like it too, give it a try, and help the guy out with feedback.
