Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.

If you're on the prowl for a new browser for your Android device, then take a look at Maxthon. I like it because it has a simple user interface with clearly explained, touch-based navigation options, cloud sync so that you can carry your bookmarks and favourites across between your desktop and your phone and, above all, because it's fast. It even has a range of add-ons that allow you to perform tasks, such as take a screenshot easily, subscribe to RSS feeds, create your own gesture controls and kill background tasks. You can even add site widgets to your homepage for quick and easy navigation to your favourite websites.
