Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.
I'm probably not the only one who feels that fightin' games just aren't the same when you're hammering on a smooth, glass screen instead of thumping madly on a button-and-joystick combo, but, nevertheless, they're doing a roaring app trade. The latest to hit the iTunes store is Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and, while it's fairly standard for the genre, it's not really our favourite. Actually, we'd probably recommend that you scope out Street Fighter IV or Soul Calibur if you're after a good experience, rather than the specific Marvel vs. Capcom franchise; they're all pretty similar games, with various gameplay modes including multiplayer, but Street Fighter and Soul Calibur are both much nicer on the eyes. And Marvel vs. Capcom 2 doesn't even have Rocket Racoon.
