Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.
If you don't have a Kindle e-reader, one way to access the Amazon ebook store is with the Kindle app. If you have a Kindle e-reader, maybe you won't need the app, but it can still be pretty cool to have all the same. Basically, it allows you to purchase and read ebooks on your phone (or tablet), and has such nifty features as a built-in dictionary and the ability to download and read free books and samples. My favourite bit, though, is Whispersync. It syncs your purchases across all Kindle-enabled devices that you have linked to your account, including e-readers, so you'll always be able to access your books. The best bit, though, is that it reads what page you are up to on one of your devices, and automatically sets all of your other devices to the same page — so, if you accidentally leave your Kindle at home, you can just pick up where you left off on your phone. So simple, yet so clever.
