AOL names two new execs

AOL Time Warner's America Online unit on Tuesday named two executives to head up separate programming divisions in the company. The online giant appointed former USA Networks and Nickelodeon executive Malcolm Bird as general manager of AOL Kids, and it named iVillage co-founder Tina Sharkey as senior vice president of lifestyle and community programming.

Bird will be responsible for developing programming and original content for AOL Kids. Sharkey will oversee the implementation of AOL's various community features such as polls, home pages, message boards, groups and chats.
