Watch 'The Hobbit' trilogy in 72 seconds -- in animated Lego

Don't have the eight-plus hours to watch all three of Peter Jackson's "Hobbit" movies? This video retells the series in just over a minute using Lego minifigs and sets. Warning: spoilers.

Warning: The video above contains spoilers from "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies." Watch at your own discretion.

"The Hobbit" trilogy is set to conclude this December when " The Battle of the Five Armies" lands in theaters worldwide. As was customary with the original "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, each of "The Hobbit" films is nearly three hours long, making the trilogy clock in between eight and nine hours total.

Fortunately for those of us who don't have eight-plus hours to spare, Kevin Ulrich of video maker Brotherhood Workshop re-created the storyline from all three films in one epic Lego supercut. The short tells the tale in just 72 seconds, which Ulrich claims is around 33,000 seconds less than Peter Jackson's version.

Since Ulrich pulled his material from the book, the film does contain spoilers from the third film, so you should probably avoid watching it if you plan to see "The Battle of the Five Armies" in theaters. "The Battle of the Five Armies" will debut in cinemas in the UK on December 12, followed by a broad international release that includes the US on December 17 and Australia on December 26.
