AmEx, IBM to offer online expense reporting

American Express and IBM plan to jointly release online expense reporting and reconciliation applications by July, the companies said Tuesday. The applications will be hosted by IBM and allow employees to fill out and submit expense reports for travel, corporate and miscellaneous office expenses to their managers and accounting department for approval and processing via a Web browser. Filing expenses online reduces paperwork and speeds reimbursements to employees, the companies said. The system inserts expense data from customers' corporate cards into their online expense reports automatically. The product, now in testing, will be available to American Express Corporate Card customers.
