Amazon UK briefly outs HTC Desire HD

Thanks to a little slip up by Amazon UK, the next big Android phone from HTC appears likely to arrive in October.

If you weren't convinced that HTC was working on an alleged Desire HD, this should do it for you.

Amazon UK briefly listed the phone as being for sale on Monday night before getting pulled almost instantly. Thankfully, someone over at Electric Pig grabbed a screen shot of the HTC 99HLZ001-00 ACE/Desire HD listed with a price tag of £415, approximately $645 U.S. The codename "Ace" has been tossed around since the rumors began a few weeks ago, but the final name of the product is still unclear.

For those unfamiliar, the Desire HD is expected to ship with Android 2.2 and feature a 4.3-inch touch display, a 1GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. The pictures and video we've been treated to thus far indicate a very Evo-like design meshed with a touch of the Legend's aesthetics.

HTC has an event scheduled for September 15, which could be tied to this phone. The handset maker hasn't divulged any details yet, but with the initial rumors tapping the phone with an October launch, I'd be surprised if HTC doesn't talk up the Desire HD at its London event.
