Amazon to run another short-film competition

E-tailer announces a short-film competition in partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival and American Express.

E-tailer Amazon.com announced on Wednesday a short-film competition in partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival and American Express. Films up to seven minutes in length can be submitted for the competition until Aug. 17, the company said. On Aug. 26, Amazon customers will rate the films and select five finalists. The finalists will then be featured on Amazon's home page.

The grand prize-winner will be announced in November and will receive $50,000 from American Express for his or her next film project. Amazon recently finished a similar competition that attracted more than 1,000 entries. The winner of that competition will be announced Wednesday night.
