Amazon senior executive resigns

Amazon.com is reorganizing its departments to "reflect the global nature" of the company, Amazon spokesman Bill Curry said Friday. The company is creating several new divisions, including one that combines all of Amazon's software resources. Also Friday, Amazon announced that David Risher, senior vice president of marketing and merchandising, has resigned and will leave the company in March. Risher, who will have been with Amazon for five years by that time, is not leaving to join another company, Curry said.
