Listen up: Amazon is offering another Prime membership perk.

The e-commerce company said Tuesday it added full access to Audible Channels, as well as a rotating selection of more than 50 audiobooks from Audible's library, to Prime accounts in the US.

Audible Channels was introduced in July as a subscription service costing $4.95 a month that offers commercial-free, short-form audio programs including podcasts, comedy shows, lectures and audio editions of articles from the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and other publications. Audible Channels are also available with a full Audible membership, which costs $14.95 a month.

Amazon, Audible's owner, has been working hard to increase Prime memberships by offering more benefits, since Prime users tend to spend more on Amazon than non-Prime members. To keep growing those ranks, Amazon has added same-day deliveries to some markets, introduced the Prime Now rapid-deliveries service and started a made-up sales holiday called Prime Day. The service also includes unlimited two-day shipping, streaming-video and streaming-music services and photo storage.

Prime, which costs $99 annually, has 57 million to 61 million members in the US, according to Piper Jaffray estimates. Amazon doesn't disclose its Prime membership figures.
