Amazon adds NBC shows like 'Grimm' to streaming catalog

"Suits" and "Covert Affairs" from USA Network are also available, while NBC's "Hannibal" and Syfy's "Defiance" will be come at a later date.

NBC's "Grimm" is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. NBC
Amazon on Thursday added several NBCUniversal titles to its Prime Instant Video streaming catalog, including "Grimm" and "Suits."

Prior seasons of "Grimm," an NBC fantasy drama based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, are available Thursday on Amazon, as is USA Network's "Suits" and "Covert Affairs." NBC's "Hannibal" psychological thriller will be available later this year, and Syfy's "Defiance" will be available early next year. USA Networks and Syfy are both owned by NBCUniversal.

All previous seasons are exclusive to Amazon, and Prime subscribers will have free, unlimited streaming access to the various episodes.

The company also added NBC's "Smash" and Syfy's "Alphas," "Eureka," and "Warehouse 13" to its catalog. Meanwhile, "Curious George" and "Land Before Time" -- both of which are produced through NBCUniversal-owned Universal Animation Studios -- will be available in Kindle FreeTime Unlimited, Amazon's content service for families.

The deal adds to Amazon's growing library of films and TV shows available for streaming and purchase. The company has been rapidly expanding its streaming service to compete with Netflix, Hulu, and other rivals. The Prime video streaming service is available to the company's customers who have annual subscriptions for $79 a year.
