Alleged Moto G specs and photos surface
The first few details purportedly emerge for the successor to Motorola's low-cost smartphone experience.
The Moto G and its LTE variant are going strong, but a blurry photo and whispers are already circulating about a successor, currently nicknamed the Moto G2 by rumor hounds.
According to tech site Mellando no Android (translate), Motorola could bump the specs up a notch while also keeping costs affordable. The Moto G2 will reportedly maintain the Moto G's 1,280x720-pixel display, but might also bump up the camera to 8 megapixels. Other rumored hardware includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, and dual-SIM capability.
It is not immediately clear when we might see the Moto G2 or if it will keep the same pricing as the 4G LTE -- $220, £150, and AU$300. We'll need to know the full spectrum of hardware before we can get a sense of its overall value. But, given former Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside's quest for a $50 smartphone, we could wind up seeing a follow-up device fall below the G2's price tag.
